The problem
Most clinics lose patients after the consultation.
The doctor's care is good. What fails is everything around it: the register, the slips, the lost history and the follow-up nobody remembers to make.
STEP 01
A patient walks in
The receptionist flips through a paper register to find them, or writes a new entry by hand while the queue grows.
STEP 02
Slips and shouting
Token slips get lost. Patients keep asking "how long?" and crowd the doctor’s door.
STEP 03
History goes missing
Last visit’s prescription is at home. Allergies and old readings live in someone’s memory.
RESULT
They don’t come back
No reminder goes out for the follow-up, so the patient drifts to another clinic and the chronic case goes untreated.
What paper quietly costs you
Every day, in every busy OPD.
Missed follow-upsChronic patients (BP, diabetes, thyroid) lapse without a reminder.
Leaking revenueUnrecorded procedures, unpaid dues and no day-end tally.
Compliance riskNo consent record or access log, with DPDP Act duties due in full by May 2027.
The difference
What changes when you move off the register
The same clinic, the same staff. Just no more paper chasing.
Without OwnClinic
Paper register and token slipsSearching pages for a returning patient
Handwritten prescriptionsHard to read, no copy, no history
Separate billing bookGST worked out by hand, dues forgotten
Follow-ups from memoryReminders only when someone remembers
The owner calls in for numbersNo view of the day until closing
Lost patients. Lost revenue. Tired staff.
With OwnClinic

How it works
One visit, seven steps, no paper register.
OwnClinic follows the way your OPD already runs. Pick a step to see the problem it fixes, who does it and what OwnClinic does for them.
Step 1 of 7 · Receptionist
Find or register the patient
Under 30 s
The problem today: The receptionist flips through the paper register, or writes a new entry by hand while the queue grows.
What OwnClinic does
Search by mobile number, name or UHID
Family members share one number without mixing records
Duplicate warning when the same patient is added twice
Treatment and messaging consent captured with a timestamp
The front desk moves faster from the first morning.
Step 2 of 7 · Receptionist
Issue a token and let the screen do the calling
TV updates in 5 s
The problem today: Token slips get lost, and patients crowd the doctor’s door asking how long it will be.
What OwnClinic does
Token issued at registration or on arrival for booked patients
Live queue board per doctor, no refreshing
Waiting-room TV shows now serving and the next three
Labels in the languages your patients read
A calmer waiting room and fewer interruptions for the doctor.
Step 3 of 7 · Nurse
Record vitals once, flag danger instantly
Critical flags in red
The problem today: Readings are written on scraps of paper, and a dangerous BP can go unnoticed until the consultation.
What OwnClinic does
BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2, blood sugar, weight and height
BMI worked out automatically
Out-of-range readings show a warning
Critical values turn red on the queue card and in the doctor’s header
The sickest patient is seen first, not the loudest.
Step 4 of 7 · Doctor
The whole history on one screen
Keyboard first
The problem today: The last prescription is at home, allergies are in someone’s memory, and there is no time to ask.
What OwnClinic does
Visit timeline with past diagnoses and prescriptions
Today’s vitals and allergy list at the top
Complaint, test and advice chips to save typing
ICD-10 diagnosis search
Better decisions in the same few minutes.
Step 5 of 7 · Doctor
A ready-to-sign prescription in under a minute
Under 60 s
The problem today: Handwritten prescriptions are hard to read, there is no copy, and the pharmacist calls back to check.
What OwnClinic does
Start from a template or repeat the last prescription
Drug search by generic or brand name, with an allergy warning
1-0-1 frequency picker and instructions in the patient’s language
Signing locks the record; corrections become a new version
Clear, legible prescriptions the patient can keep on their phone.
Step 6 of 7 · Receptionist
The bill is ready before the patient reaches the counter
Created on sign
The problem today: A separate bill book, GST worked out by hand, and dues nobody remembers to collect.
What OwnClinic does
Bill created automatically when the doctor signs
GST-exempt consultation and taxable items on one bill
Cash, UPI QR, card or a Razorpay payment link; part payments allowed
Day-end report and Excel export for your accountant
Every visit billed, and day-end totals that match.
Step 7 of 7 · Automatic
The patient hears from you after they leave
Sent automatically
The problem today: Patients forget their follow-up date, and chronic cases like BP and diabetes quietly lapse.
What OwnClinic does
Prescription PDF and receipt sent on WhatsApp
Reminder 24 hours before the next appointment
SMS sent automatically if WhatsApp fails
Follow-ups due listed on the owner dashboard
Fewer no-shows and more patients coming back.
Patients track their turn
No crowd at the door. Patients wait where they like.
Each patient gets a token on WhatsApp with a live link, or a printed slip with a QR code, and can see how long is left.

Privacy and trust
Your patients' data is yours. We never sell it.
OwnClinic is built around India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, so protecting patient privacy is part of the daily workflow, not an afterthought.

FAQ
Questions clinics ask us
Pick a topic to see its questions.
Getting started
Which clinics is OwnClinic for?
Outpatient (OPD) clinics and polyclinics in India, from a single-doctor practice to a clinic with several doctors and branches. The first release is built for General Medicine; a paediatrics pack is on the roadmap.
My doctors won’t type. Will this still work?
Yes. Start with tokens and the queue, and the doctor can keep writing on paper. When they’re ready, templates and repeat prescriptions keep typing to a minimum, and voice to prescription is coming soon.
Do I need an IT person?
No. There’s no server to run. We set everything up with you and train your staff.
Do I need to install anything?
No. OwnClinic runs in a web browser on any desktop, laptop or tablet. There is nothing to install and no server to keep in your clinic.
What equipment do I need?
A computer or tablet at the front desk, one in each consultation room, and a stable internet connection. For printing, a normal A4/A5 printer or an 80 mm thermal printer works. The waiting-room display runs on any TV or monitor with a web browser.
How do we get started?
Book a demo on WhatsApp and we will walk through a full visit using your clinic’s workflow. If it fits, we set up your doctors, tariffs, prescription templates and letterhead with you, then train your staff before your first live day.
Will my staff find it hard to learn?
Each person only sees the screens for their job, so a receptionist learns registration, tokens and billing, and a nurse learns vitals. Doctors can work from the keyboard with templates and shortcuts. Pilot clinics get hands-on training for every role.
Can I bring patients over from my paper register or old software?
Yes. We import your patient list from Excel or CSV at setup. Patients who aren’t on a list can be registered on their next visit in under 30 seconds.
Using it every day
Which languages can patients use?
Prescription instructions, WhatsApp messages and the waiting-room TV are for patients, so they work in English, Tamil and Hindi, with Kannada coming soon. Each patient’s language is saved on their record. Staff screens are in English.
Does it work for a clinic with several doctors or branches?
Yes. Each doctor has their own queue tab and appointment column, and owners can switch between branches after one sign-in.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The first release needs an internet connection. An offline mode that keeps the front desk and consultation working, and syncs when the connection is back, is on the roadmap.
What does a printed prescription include?
Your letterhead, the doctor’s name and registration number, the diagnosis, medicines with generic names in capitals, dose, frequency and duration, instructions in the patient’s language, and the follow-up date. It prints on A4, A5 or 80 mm thermal paper, or goes to the patient as a PDF on WhatsApp.
What if the doctor needs to correct a signed prescription?
Signing locks a prescription so it can’t be quietly changed. A correction creates a new version, and the original is kept, so the record always shows what was given and when.
How are appointments and walk-ins handled together?
Booked patients have 15-minute slots that can’t be double-booked. Walk-ins get a token at the front desk. Both appear on the same live queue, and missed appointments go to a no-show list for recall.
Billing and patient messages
How does billing handle GST?
Consultations and procedures go on the bill as GST-exempt health services (SAC 9993). Taxable items such as dispensed medicine (HSN 3004) carry CGST and SGST on the same bill. Your tariffs and tax settings are set up with you; check them with your accountant.
Which payment methods can we take?
Cash, UPI QR, card, or a Razorpay payment link sent to the patient. Part payments are allowed and outstanding dues are tracked per patient. The day-end report and an Excel export are ready for your accountant.
Can staff give discounts?
Yes, with a reason recorded on the bill. A discount above 10% needs the owner’s approval.
How do WhatsApp messages reach patients?
OwnClinic sends appointment confirmations, a reminder 24 hours before, prescriptions and receipts from approved message templates in the patient’s language. If a WhatsApp message fails, an SMS is sent instead, and both appear in the message log with their delivery status.
Do patients need to install an app?
No. Patients receive everything on WhatsApp or SMS. An optional patient app is on the roadmap.
Privacy and your data
Who owns the patient data?
Your clinic does. We store it to run the service, log every access, and never sell it or share it for advertising.
How does OwnClinic help with the DPDP Act 2023?
Treatment and messaging consent are recorded with a timestamp at registration, patients can withdraw consent, every view or change of a patient record is written to an audit log, and staff only see what their role allows. The Act’s main duties apply in full by May 2027. You remain responsible for how your clinic uses the data; OwnClinic gives you the records to show it.
Who on my staff can see patient records?
Only the roles you allow. Owners control a permission matrix for receptionists, nurses and doctors, and the audit log shows who opened which record and when. Owners and doctors sign in with an SMS code as a second step.
Where is the data stored?
In India, on AWS in Mumbai.
How long do you keep records?
Records are kept for 5 years by default.
Can I get my data out if I leave?
Yes. Your clinic can export all its data at any time, and you can cancel whenever you like.
AI and audio
Does OwnClinic use AI?
The first release has no AI. Voice to prescription, audio prescriptions and AI notes are coming soon.
What is an audio prescription?
After the doctor signs, the patient gets a WhatsApp voice note that explains each medicine, the dose and the advice in their own language. It helps patients who find a written prescription hard to read.
How does voice to prescription work?
The doctor dictates during the consultation, and AI turns it into a draft with diagnosis, medicines, dose and advice. The doctor edits it and signs.
Can AI send anything to a patient by itself?
No. Nothing from AI reaches a patient without the doctor’s review and signature.
Pricing and roadmap
How much does it cost?
Free Queue is ₹0. Starter is ₹599 a month, Pro ₹1,199 and Clinic Plus ₹2,499, plus 18% GST. Paying yearly gives you 2 months free. There is no commission on bookings.
How do WhatsApp credits work?
Each plan includes WhatsApp credits. Top-ups cost ₹0.25 per message, and the Messages screen shows your balance and every message sent.
Can I use my ABHA number workflow?
You can record a patient’s ABHA number today. ABHA verification and record sharing through ABDM are on the roadmap.
What is the pilot programme?
A pilot is running in Bangalore from December 2026 with a small group of General Medicine clinics. Pilot clinics get set-up and training, a direct line to the product team, and early access to new modules. The first 30 clinics get 40% off the yearly plan for life.
